June Ashley Obituary

June Marie Ashley, 74, of Frederick, Md. died Saturday, October 1, 2005 at Northampton Manor Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Bernard Lee Ashley who passed away in 2002.

Born April 1, 1931 in Roanoke, Va., she was the daughter of the late Frank Washington Mays and the late Ruby Bryant Jernell Mays.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her children. She also enjoyed gardening, reading books and magazines. In her latter years she enjoyed playing bingo.

She is survived by four sons, Kyle Ashley and wife Brenda of Jefferson, Md., Keith Ashley and wife Renee of Elizabethtown, N.C., Kerry Ashley and wife Robin of Frederick, Md. and Kevin Ashley and wife Lisa of Gaithersburg, Md.; ten grandchildren, Trevor, Adam, Ryan, Brent, Christopher, Joshua, Kasie, Rebecca, Sarah and Heather Ashley; a brother, Ronald Mays and wife Anita of Oklahoma; a sister, Leona Walack of Pennsylvania; a brother-in-law, Donald "Gene" Ashley and wife Jean of West Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Md. on Thursday, October 6, 2005 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 7, 2005 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Larry L. Eubanks officiating.

Internment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Md.
