Dear Suzanne,
I guess I must of thought of Jake as ageless, because I couldn´t believe seeing his obituary.
He was a gifted mechanic, who managed to keep my old cars running long past their expected demise.
As a dad, his love for his three children was unrivaled! I remember being at the shop one day, and I saw Nathan´s race car. Jake explained to me how he felt that Nathan´s ability to drive was one way to "equalize the field" for his son. His eloquence conveyed his love and passion for his children.
You were his rock, I am sure. His business was buoyed by your unflagging energy as a loving parent who was a tireless advocate and mom. I admired your positive attitude and straightforward manner enormously when our paths crossed during our kids´ childhood years.
I send you my love and condolences as well as those from Larry and my daughters.
May Jake´s memory be for a blessing.
Most sincerely,
Paula
