Kathleen Higdon

Mrs. Kathleen Ruth Higdon, 78, a resident of Gaithersburg for 58 years, died Friday, May 6, 2005. She was the wife of Robert P. Higdon Sr., to whom she was married for 60 years.

Mrs. Higdon was born in Fayetteville, Pa. on June 29, 1926 to the late Frank and Grace Carbaugh Baranowske.

She was a member of Gaithersburg HELP and the Washington Grove United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Carol M. Eader and husband Oscar of Mount Airy; a son, Robert P. Higdon Jr. and wife Deborah of Frederick; three grandchildren, Denise Troller and husband Jake of Mount Airy, Linda Eader of Gaithersburg and Julie Carr and husband Jason of Manassas, Va.; two great grandchildren, Alaina and Travis Troller; and a sister, Mary Donohoe of New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by two siblings, Carroll Baranowske and Edward Baranowske.

Viewings for Mrs. Higdon will be held on Monday, May 9 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the DeVol Funeral Home, 10 E. Deer Park Dr., Gaithersburg. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 10, at 11 a.m. Interment Parklawn Cemetery in Rockville.
