Kathryn Fleming

Kathryn Pauline Fleming, age 95, formerly of Union Bridge and Taneytown, died Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Martin's Care Home, Littlestown, PA.

Born Jan. 19, 1922 in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late U. Vernon and B. Pauline Hively Gladhill. She was the wife of the late Garland M. "Marty" Fleming, who died in 1991.

Mrs. Fleming was a 1938 graduate of Elmer Wolfe High School. She was formerly employed as a meat cutter for 18 years, working in different markets. She had worked as a caregiver for families around Union Bridge. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Union Bridge Fire Company and was a member of Bethel Assembly of God, Littlestown.

She enjoyed fishing on the Potomac, the outdoors, gardening, yard work, and her dog and companion, "Tasha".

Surviving are one son, Paul M. Fleming and wife, Marian of Venice, FL; grandson, Michael M. Fleming of Hagerstown; and great-grandson, Joshua Fleming.

She was predeceased by one brother, Hively Gladhill.

The family would like to thank the owners, staff and residents of Martin's Care Home for their love and compassionate care for Kathryn.

The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge on Tuesday, March 7 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Samuel Garrett, pastor of Gates of Praise Worship Center, Littlestown. Interment will follow in Pipe Creek Cemetery, near Linwood.
