Linda Gilbert Obituary
She grew up on Trail Avenue and graduated high school from St. John's Literary Institute in 1965. She was married to Lieutenant Colonel James Phillip Gilbert from 1969-1990, living the life of a military spouse with over a dozen moves all over the country. She proudly completed her Bachelor of Science in accounting from Mount St. Mary's in 1989. She spent her career in the accounting field, and made ceramics and crocheted gifts in her spare time. She had a life-long love of convertibles and the beach. You could often find her on the weekends enjoying a book in the sun or waxing her car. Hating to cook, she was on a first-name basis with most restaurant servers in town.
Linda is survived by her children Ryan Mathew Gilbert and Alyssia Ann Turner. Also surviving are grandchildren Colton James McMaster Gilbert of Bel Air, Kennedy Lee Turner, and Gabriel James Turner of Frederick. Linda is also survived by her siblings Patricia Elizabeth Crum of Frederick, Bernard Robert Baumgardner, III, of Spokane, WA, Rosemary Ann Baumgardner of Baltimore, Brian Thomas Baumgardner, and William James Baumgardner of Frederick.
The family will receive friends at 10am, to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 East Second Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Father Matthew DeFusco will officiate. Interment will be at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.

Yesterday
I knew Linda briefly, but I could tell she was warm, loving and compassionate. I met Linda while she was staying in Frederick. My loved one and Linda were friends. I visited Linda over the past couple of months, even if we only said 'hello' and 'how are you'. Linda was very kind, and she encouraged me to help my loved one. Linda told me of her catholic upbringing and the schools she attended. I was also brought up in the same manner. We prayed together even if it was just a simple blessing towards each other. God Bless you Linda. I offer my condolences to her family.
