Mary Main

1929 - 2023

On August 4, 2023 our lord and savior Jesus Christ opened his arms to welcome Mary Catherine Main to eternal life and reunited her with her loving husband of 69 years, Wm. Henry Main, Jr. (2016) and daughter Donna Lea Main (2009).

She was resident of Frederick, MD and most recently at Autumn Lake at Glade Valley, Walkersville, MD.

Born 1929 in Middletown, MD, she was the only child of the late Glenn C. and Emma (Kefauver) Stine and step daughter to the late Harry C. Swain.

She spent her childhood and teenage years growing up in Frederick, graduating from Frederick H.S. in 1946.

After her marriage to Henry, she left the business world to become a homemaker raising her family. She loved to bake and would share her many pies and cakes with family and friends. Her specialty was red velvet cake.

She also loved to travel including trips to Ireland, England, Scotland and Hawaii. Bus trips were also a favorite traveling to almost every state.

When she wasn't baking or traveling, she found time to volunteer belonging to the auxiliary at Northampton Nursing Home, work with the Red Cross Blood Drives, was a member of the Ladies of the Elks for many years and an inactive member of the Ladies of the American Legion #11.

Mary Catherine was a loyal member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Frederick for over 50 years. She looked forward every year to the Great Frederick Fair, where she could be found everyday serving chili and sloppy joes at the church tent for 39 years. She enjoyed the fellowship with her co-workers and many friends.

She loved all animals, especially dogs, which she always had one or more by her side her entire life.

She is survived and will be greatly missed by her daughter; Cathy Ann Edwards and her two sister-in-laws; Barbara Main and Millie Main and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the entire staff of Autumn Lake for their kind and excellent care she received.

Visitation will be from 1pm to 2pm with the funeral at 2:00PM at Trinity UMC on Tuesday, August 8 with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
