Nancy Mason Obituary

Mrs. Nancy Gail Mason, 56, of Braddock Heights, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at the Kline Hospice House, Mount Airy, after a courageous, but brief, battle with cancer.

She was the wife of Donald E. "Skip" Mason Jr.

She was born June 4, 1950, in Baltimore, the daughter of Joseph F. and Kathryn E. Boyer Carroll.

She was an employee for Frederick County Department of Social Services for 30 years until her retirement in 1999. She then worked at the Maryland Counseling Centers, Inc. until her illness.

In addition to her husband, Skip, and her parents, she is survived by her daughter, Beth Mason of Frederick, and her sister, Wendy Ellen Skarda of Frederick. She will be fondly remembered by her foster sister, Laura Ann Fogle; her sisters- and brother-in -law; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces. She was loved by many friends and especially by her close friends Jacque Butts, Traci Beck and Mary Rolle.

Visitation with family will be held from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 23, at Keeney and Basford P.A. Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at the funeral home, with Pastor Robert Quintana and the Rev. Dr. Mike Garland officiating.

Interment will be at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.

By request of the family, donations may be made to Kline Hospice House, c/o Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799 Frederick, MD 21702-1799.
