Norman Anders Obituary
Mr. Norman Franklin "Jake" Anders Jr., 73, of Brunswick, passed away Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at his residence. He was the loving husband for 48 years of June Baugher Anders, whom he married Dec. 16, 1961, in Frederick.
Born May 15, 1937, in Thurmont, he was the third of five children to the late Norman Franklin and Ruth Moser Anders Sr.
Mr. Anders worked in construction and as a welder. He loved to go hunting. He was an avid Redskins and Yankees fan.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife, June, are five children, Michael Anders and David Anders Sr., both of Brunswick, Kevin Anders and girlfriend, Susan Chapman, of Frederick, Tammy Dwyer and husband, Harry, and Teresa Free, all of Brunswick; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy Beard and husband, Gene, of Thurmont. Many nieces and nephews, including special niece, Robin Sandler, and special aunt, Idella Anders, also survive. He will be remembered by his special friends, Chet Free Sr., Daryl Slifer and Donnie Sweeney. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Anders; and three brothers, Robert Moser, Roy Anders and Emory Anders. The family would like to extend their thanks to Hospice and the doctors and nurses of FMH ICU and cardiac services.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 1201 N. Market St., Frederick.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at the funeral home. The Rev. Lloyd Fuss will officiate.
Interment will be in Park Heights Cemetery, Bruns-wick. Bearers will be Jeff Anders, David Anders Sr., Chet Free Sr., Daryl Slifer, David Anders Jr., Keith Jenkins and Joey Bland.
"Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you there," said Isla Paschal Richardson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in memory of Mr. Anders to the Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 1201 N. Market St., Frederick, MD 21701 to offset burial costs.
