Uncle Dave,
So sorry to hear of the loss of Aunt Polly. Sixty years of marriage is a testament to the love and affection which you each had for one another. May those many years of shared memories bring you consolation in this difficult time. I know that we have not seen each other since childhood, but please give my best regards to Kendi on the loss of her mom. I know how she feels, since I just lost my mom, Lucy Fisher (your sister-in-law) on 11/24/13.
Your nephew, Ray

My Aunt Polly was such an inspiration in my life. Her dedication to her family, friends, the community and education was legendary to say the least. What always touched my heart was that she chose to teach first graders. Certainly not because they were easy to deal with as I'm sure they were not but because she believed that was the point in education that she could most influence them and what an influence she is. My fondest memories of the beach are with her and my Uncle Dave. I lost count of how many times I would drift asleep on their couch on New Years eve, eating shrimp, watching football and feeling welcome. If you've ever gone out to eat with her you knew one thing was for sure, she would take charge and make everything a breeze. Those who inhabit our hearts never truly leave us but live on forever.

Polly Fisher will be missed at all our family events. She was family to me. She and Dave were friends with my parents since high school. She was always known as "Aunt Polly," to me and my brothers. She would send me Weekly Readers in the mail, she was at my wedding and bought us our wedding cake, our family reunions, and many other family parties. Polly was my mom's closest friend and was loved by my parents very much. She will be missed by me and our family so much. She was a very special lady.
