Richard German

1962 - 2025

Richard "Rick" Wayne German, age 63 of Mt. Airy, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Frederick Health Hospital. Born March 7, 1962 in Maryland, he was the son of the late William Caswell German and Ellen Cochran German. He was the husband of Lisa German, his wife of 40 years.

He dedicated his career to public service, working as a manager for the U.S. Treasury Department at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Office of Compliance. A devoted member of Tri-County Baptist Church, he served faithfully as the building manager and generously gave his time through volunteer work. For 24 years, he was a passionate leader of the Alpha Alpaca 4-H Club in Frederick County, where he guided and mentored countless young people. He found joy in the outdoors-fishing, hunting, and golfing-and treasured time spent with his grandchildren. Known for his love of conversation, he was not only a great talker but an even better listener, teacher, and mentor.

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters Tiffany German and Eric Bolyard of Mt. Airy, Krystal and Sean McHenka of Westminster, grandchildren Dodge, Shane, Ella, and a grandbaby expected January 2026, brothers Robert and Penny German of Adamstown, Ronald and Mandy German of Frederick and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 23 from 12-2 PM and 4PM until time of service 5 PM at Tri County Baptist Church, 7821 Damascus Rd., Gaithersburg, MD.
