Richard Jarboe Sr.

1943 - 2025

Richard Anthony Jarboe, Sr., aged 82, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, in Frederick Health Hospital. Born on February 13, 1943, in Washington, DC, Richard went to Catholic grade school and graduated from DeMatha Catholic High School in 1961. He married Kathleen Cecilia Ady in 1963 and raised their family in Silver Spring, MD.

Richard was known for his extremely hard work ethic and dedication as a self-employed marble mason, founding R.A. Jarboe and Sons, Inc. until 1992 when he passed the leadership to his sons. His love for his work was only surpassed by his devotion to his family.

Rich and Kathy lived for 5 years in Ocean Pines, MD in the early 90's, and then in Ocala, FL for the last 20 years before moving to Monrovia, MD a year and a half ago. He loved to golf, coach youth sports, and most recently, he cherished the moments watching his great grandchildren compete in their sporting activities. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered through the countless family trips and cherished memories shared over the years.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Kathleen; sons, Richard Jr., Michael (Julie), and Joseph (Jennifer); grandchildren, Michael Jr, Nicole, Joseph, Frank, Vincent, Christina, and Richard III, their spouses, and nine great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Linda Lockard (Steve) and Nancy Edgar (Brian), and many loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ann Jarboe, and his brother, Steve Jarboe.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 8th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius of Loyola in Ijamsville, MD. Richard Jarboe, Sr.
