Ronald Grabill Obituary

Ronald Eugene Grabill, age 87, of Thurmont, died Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Frederick Health Hospital under hospice care. Born October 10, 1938 in Johnsville, he was the son of the late Roland Harold Grabill and Lula Holtzople Grabill. He was the husband of K. Ardene Esworthy Grabill whom he married in 1959 and who died in 1993.

Ron was a 1957 graduate of Frederick High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1965 in the 558th Signal Co. at Fort Jackson, SC, Fort Knox, KY and Fort Meade, MD. His active duty included the Berlin Crisis 1961-1962. From 1966-1995 Ron was employed with C&P Telephone and Bell Atlantic, retiring after 29 years of service. He was a member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, the American Legion and several antique car clubs. He enjoyed driving his car in Memorial Day parades. He also enjoyed his trips to Myrtle Beach and his visit to Australia.

Surviving are daughter, Shari Lynn Grabill, several cousins and numerous close friends.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service, with military honors, will be held in Locust Grove Cemetery, near Mt. Airy, at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, with Pastor Greg Quintrell officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick County Humane Society, 1832 Rosemont Ave., Frederick, MD 21702.
