Virginia Gladding Obituary

Mrs. Virginia Wood Gladding, 81, of Hanover, Pa., formerly of Rocky Ridge, died Tuesday, July 16, at Homewood at Plumcreek, Hanover.

She was the wife Melvin B. Gladding, who died April 27, 2001. Her husband of 54 years.

Born Sept. 20, 1920, in Salem Va., she was a daughter of the late John and Virginia Carter Wood.

Mrs. Gladding was a member of Homewood at Plumcreek Chapel. She was employed as a bookkeeper for many years.

Surviving are one daughter, Helen S. Gibbs and husband Lawrence of Rocky Ridge; two sons, Don L. Gladding and wife Connie of Alexandria, Va. and John Henry Dillon and wife Darlene of Carney's Point, N.J.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, John Wood Jr. of New Market, Va.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, at Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with the Rev. William A. Speers officiating.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to Homewood at Plumcreek Benevolent Fund, 425 Westminster Ave., Hanover, Pa. 17331.
