Woodrow Palmer Obituary

Woodrow "Woody" Wayne Palmer, 81, of Myersville, MD entered into Gods' eternal care on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Meritus Medical Center. He was born on April 13, 1943, in Myersville to the late Glen W. and Annie M. (Wise) Palmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents Clarence and Mary Palmer, Roy and Estella Wise, one brother Gerald Palmer, two sisters Nancy Witmer and Sara Palmer, brother-in-law Butch Subetto, nephew Robert Wise II and niece Lori Hall.

Woody graduated from Middletown High School in 1961, served in the US Army from 1962 to 1968 and married Andrea Marie Buhrman in 1963. He worked for Carol Flook Drywall until he opened his own business, Palmer's Drywall Service, in 1971, which he was still operating until his passing.

Woody was an active hunter, which he made many trips out west. He enjoyed NASCAR. He was a member of Tuscarora Archers, Owls Club, American Legion and the Elks Lodge of Frederick.

He is survived by Andrea Palmer, and proud and loving father to three daughters, Yvonne Reeder and husband, Chuck, of Woodsboro, Dawn Brown and husband Charlie, of Boonsboro and Heather Putnam and husband, Chad, of Walkersville; six grandchildren Craig and Justin Brown, Alexis and Aaron Reeder, Hailey and Brooke Putna; seven great grandchildren, two sisters Mary and husband Robert Flook, and Judy Subetto, sister in law Shirley Palmer, three brothers Robert Wise and wife Faye, David Palmer and wife, Wanda and Raymond Palmer and wife Betty, as well as many nieces and nephews, and his canine lab Bullet.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Thompson Harman Funeral Home, 31 E Main Street, Middletown. A Celebration of Woody's Life will be held at Salem Community Church, 12477 Wolfsville Road, Myersville, MD 21773 on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Pastor D. Neil Suders will preside. Inurnment with military honors to follow in Mt. Zion UMC Cemetery, Myersville. In lieu of flowers, contributions to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Woodrow Palmer

I´ll never forget that amazing smile of yours and those beautiful blue eyes and not to mention that gorgeous cowboy hat you always wore that made you look like a real cowboy. I enjoyed all of our lunches that we had together and just talking about hunting and other things in general, and how we always did that shot of crown at lunch. Thank you for always being my friend. You will be deeply missed by many my condolences to your family and all your employees, Palmer drywall will never be the same without you.
