Albert V. Ward
Albert Vernon Ward passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the age of 92. He was born in Arlington and lived there for 84 years before moving to Spotsylvania County almost eight years ago.
Papa was a tower of strength and a man of vision and great integrity. He always put others' needs and wants ahead of his own. He possessed a winning personality and a sparkling sense of humor. He was a store manager at People's Drug stores, now CVS Pharmacy. He retired in 1985 after 43 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Eleanor; one son, Michael A. Ward and his wife, Cindy, of Stafford County; and two granddaughters, Meredith and Laura.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, Arlington.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011; or alz.org.
