Alice Lorenzo

Alice Christine Lorenzo, 87, beloved Catholic, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Teacher went to Our Lord on November 16, 2025 at her home in Woodford, Va. Alice was born April 26, 1938 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Alvah and Loretta Johnston. After living in Pittsburgh, her family moved to Newport News, Va., then Hampton Va., and finally to Cedon (Caroline County) Va. Alice graduated C.T. Smith High School in 1956, where she met her future husband, John Lorenzo. Alice attended Pan American Business School from Jan 1957 to Sept 1957 and graduated with a degree. She worked for Household Finance, Sears, and Mary Washington College. On January 23, 1960 Alice married her High School sweetheart John Lorenzo. She was a member of St Mary of the Annunciation both at Woodford and then at Ruther Glen when the church moved. While raising a family, Alice taught dance in the home basement as "Lorenzo School of Dance" for 34 years, and at various dance schools. Outside of her faith and family, she dearly loved teaching dance and cherished every single student.
Alice is survived by her husband John Michael Lorenzo, Sr. of Woodford, Va.; a brother William "Bill" Monroe (Ann) Johnston, Sr. of Yorktown, Va.; a brother-in-law Anthony "Butch" Ramond Lorenzo, Jr. of Hugo, Okla.; two sons John Michael Lorenzo, Jr. of Fredericksburg, Va., and Steven Anthony Lorenzo of Woodford, Va.; a daughter Deborah Anne Lorenzo of Powhatan, Va.; 4 grandchildren Gabrielle "Brie" Hawkins, Olivia Lorenzo, Michael Abel, and Kara Abel; 3 nephews William Johnston, Jr., Charles Payne, Jr., Tony Lorenzo III; 2 nieces Sharon Payne, and Shelia Knighton.
A Funeral Mass in her memory will be held Tuesday November 25, 2025 at St Mary of the Annunciation 10306 Ladysmith Rd., Ruther Glen, VA 22546. Visitation, Rosary and Viewing will begin 10 am at St Mary of the Annunciation, with the funeral Mass at 12 pm. After Mass, the burial will be at St Cyril and Methodius Cemetery 8252 Paige Rd., Woodford, VA 22580. After the burial, there will be a reception and food back at St Mary of the Annunciation.
