Barbara Lee Kuntz, 79, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Prince William Hospital in Manassas, Va. Mrs. Kuntz was born in Princeton, Illinois on April 17, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Phillip and Hazel Kopp. Mrs. Kuntz married her husband, Arlen R. Kuntz of Strawn, Illinois, on November 12, 1955. After moving to Virginia with her family, Mrs. Kuntz served as a budget analyst in the Pentagon for 15 years. She achieved a U.S. Civil Service rank of GS-13 during her exceptional career. When she retired, she and her husband operated a home improvement and remodeling business in Springfield, Va.
Survivors include three children, Scott A. Kuntz (Vicki) of Elk River, Minn., Kari K. Smith (Tom) of Beckley, W.Va., and Brian D. Kuntz (Dana) of Oak Hill, Va.; grandchildren Tara M. White, Amy N. Nolan, Eric M. Ferguson, Brittany M. Tutem, Stephanie M. Kuntz, Jacob A. Kuntz; and great-grandson Ethan Shiloh White. Also a brother, Jack Kopp; and two sisters, Joann Tucker and Jeri Link. She was preceded in death by her husband and two infant twin daughters, Kathleen and Ann Marie Kuntz.
A visitation will be held at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 1 p.m. until the start of the service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Kuntz's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. To sign an online guestbook, please visit fmfh.com.
