Born in a holler of a mountain, in Pike County Kentucky, Billy Vanover Sr., 68, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital, in Richmond.
Mr. Vanover resided in Spotsylvania. He was a retired conductor for the RF&P Railroad. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, playing cards, traveling and the outdoors. He loved playing Yahtzee and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Above all, he was known for the love that he gave so generously to his family.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Laura G. Vanover; nine children Tabitha Vanover (Mark Mitchell), Tanya Petro (Patrick), Shannon Tyler (Benjamin), Billy Vanover Jr. (Jennifer), Allison Vanover, Richard Vanover, Susan-Mae Vanover, Courtney Vanover (Donnie Woodard Jr.) and Michael Vanover; eighteen grandchildren; and one great granddaughter on the way. As well as two brothers and three sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 14 at Wallers Baptist Church, 4001 Partlow Rd., Partlow, Va. Burial will be private.
