Carlton Oesterheld Obituary
Carlton Lee Oesterheld, 81, of Spotsylvania County, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022, at his home.
Carlton was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His greatest joys were spending time with his family, fishing, and working in his yard. He was a lifelong resident of Spotsylvania, a member of Hebron Baptist Church, retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation, and Assistant Chief of Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years, Brenda Oesterheld; son, Jason Oesterheld (Michele); grandchildren, Olivia Oesterheld, Alex Anderson, and Zachary Anderson; and many devoted family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivery and Mable Oesterheld along with his brother, Thomas Oesterheld.
A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday June 8, 2022, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The Rev. Carol Markham and the Rev. John Hodgen will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hebron Baptist Church, 11000 Hebron Church Rd., Spotsylvania, VA 22551.

Sorry to read of your loss. I knew Carlton briefly after I went to work for VDOT. He was always nice to me and very knowledgeable about his job. I pray that you find Peace over his passing I´m sure he is in Great hands with our Lord in Heaven.

We have lost a very sweet and gentle man I will miss you Uncle Carlton . I know I have not seen you much over the years but I will always remember the sweet and gentle man you was . You was always smiling when I saw you .
