Carroll Springer

Carroll R. "Carl" Springer, 77, of King George, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Born in Fredericksburg to the late Elmer and Blanche Springer, Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, a Bronze Star and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, for his service and bravery.

An entrepreneur at heart, Carl operated several successful businesses throughout his life. He was the owner and operator of Northern Neck Carpet and Springer's Guns and Tackle, later turning his talents toward homebuilding in the local area. He concluded his career managing and maintaining his various rental properties, a reflection of his hardworking spirit.

Carl will be remembered for his warm smile, quick wit, and endless collection of funny stories. He never met a stranger and took great joy in sharing laughter with his many friends. Above all, his greatest happiness came from spending time with his family-especially his beloved grandsons, with whom he shared countless memories.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Janice B. Springer; his son, Jay W. Faulconer (Farran) of Isle of Palms, S.C.; his brother, George W. Springer (Carol) of Lynchburg; his sister, Inez Smith of Spotsylvania; his grandsons, Ben and Will Faulconer, both of Charleston, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, at Historyland Memorial Park and Arboretum. Following the service, the family invites friends to gather next door at Storke Funeral Home for a light reception and time of fellowship.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or the Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org), causes close to Carl's heart.
