Charles R. Brooks
Charles Raymond "Big Boy" Brooks Jr., 84, of Spotsylvania County passed away Friday, March 2, 2012, at Carriage Hill Health and Rehab.
Mr. Brooks was a U.S. Army veteran and had retired from Dominion Virginia Power after 41 years. He was a member of Spotsylvania Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Roberta "Peachie" Brooks; sons Gerald W. Brooks and wife Beth Ray and Jerry L. Brooks and wife Sandra, all of Spotsylvania; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister Shirley Deihr of Spotsylvania; and close friend Al James of Spotsylvania.
A funeral will be held at noon Tuesday, March 6, at Spotsylvania Church of God. Entombment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park mausoleum. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be made in his name to Spotsylvania Church of God, 12240 Five Mile Road, Fredericksburg, Va. 22407.
