Charles Fleming Obituary

Charles Vernon Fleming

Charles Vernon Fleming, 88, of Stafford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at his home.

Charles was a devoted member of Canaan's Faith Church of God, where his faith was a guiding force throughout his life. He had a lifelong passion for John Deere tractors, took great pride in his garden, and was never far from his trusted tools. Charles dedicated 44 years to a distinguished career with the RF&P/CSX Railroad in the Bridge and Building Department, where his skill and work ethic earned the respect of his colleagues.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Kathy Embrey (John), Charles Fleming, Jr. (Darlene), Lisa Fleming (Elmer), and Kim Seacrist (Chad); nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Anna Graninger and Ronnie Fleming (Millie); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Jenny Fleming; brothers, Leslie and Howard Fleming; and sister, Mamie Payne.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canaan's Faith Church of God, Fredericksburg.
