David A. Zacchetti
Major David Alan Zacchetti, (Ret.) U.S. Army , 67, of Fredericksburg passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Following his retirement from active duty, he worked as a military planning specialist for the Department of the Army, Office of the Chief of Engineers, where he retired in November 2012.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Zacchetti; his children, Tina Whitcomb (Kenneth), David Alan Zacchetti II, LeeAnne Bergquist (Scott), Anita Zacchetti and Jason Zacchetti (Michelle); his siblings, Darlene Snyder, George Zacchetti Jr., Kathleen Vivirito (Thomas), Mary Poerstel (Jack), Dennis Zacchetti (Ann), Thomas Zacchetti, Suzanne Dixon, James Zacchetti (Kitty), Gerard Zacchetti, Anthony Zacchetti, Timothy Zacchetti (Darlene) and Geralynn Zacchetti; five grandchildren, Kelley Whitcomb, Kyle Whitcomb, Regan Bergquist, Celia Bergquist and Scott Bergquist Jr.; one great-grandson, Landon Helm; and numerous other family members.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A rosary service will be held at 3 p.m.
A Mass of Celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
