Eunice Marsh Obituary

Eunice Daphna Marsh

Eunice Daphna Marsh, 96, passed peacefully Sunday afternoon, February 18, 2024 with her three sons at her side.

Daphna, daughter of John Moses "Buck" Albert and Lotus Lilly Albert, was born in McCoy, Virginia on December 31, 1927. After high school, she became a dental assistant in Blacksburg where she met Henry Clinton Marsh, Sr., originally of Onley, Virginia. They were married on December 17, 1949 in the Centennial Christian Church of McCoy. They lived in numerous cities in Virginia, raised three sons, and eventually settled in Fredericksburg in 1966, becoming steadfast members of the Fredericksburg Baptist Church.

Daphna was a loving wife and mother, instilling in her sons a love for reading and music. While raising her sons, she worked as a dental assistant and office manager, was a caregiver for her mother, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to her neighbors. After her husband Henry unexpectedly passed in 1995, she remained in Fredericksburg until very recently. From her early days in McCoy to her many years in Fredericksburg, Daphna was an active and caring member of the churches in the numerous communities in which she lived. Her faith was a very important part of her life. She was a strong woman with a strong work ethic and a desire to help others.

Daphna is survived by her younger brother, Joseph Cline Albert (Judy, deceased); sons Henry Clinton Marsh, Jr. (Leslie), Russell Albert Marsh (Claire), and Michael Eric Marsh (Ann Jackman); grandson John Marsh; granddaughter Charlotte Marsh (Sam Webb); great-grandson Owen Webb; Claire's children Alexandra Scheer and Miklos Scheer (Ann Pendleton Scheer, deceased); and Miklos' daughters, Sophie and Flora.

Daphna was preceded in death by her brothers, Horace Wendell Albert and Delma Dale Albert.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27 at Fredericksburg Baptist Church with a reception to follow at the church. Interment will be at 2 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fredericksburg Baptist Church.

I am so sorry to hear about Daphna. I was planning on going to visit her during my birthday week off this past week. She was such a wonderful woman. I used to love visiting her when she was up in Massachusetts when I lived there.
Henry and Daphna will always hold a special place in my heart.
