Evelyn S. Eustace
Evelyn Sullivan Eustace, 89, of Spotsylvania County died peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, March 8, 2011.
Evelyn was born in Stafford County, one of 11 children. She was the daughter of Rosser and Bertha Jett Sullivan. She graduated from Falmouth High School and worked at Grants in downtown Fredericksburg before her marriage.
She and her husband moved to Spotsylvania in 1953 to raise their family. Evelyn was a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker and avid gardener known for her canned vegetables, fruits and jams.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Vernon L. Eustace; four children, Rebecca Mills and husband Donald of Spotsylvania, Carol Butler of King George County, V. Lee Eustace Jr. and wife Barbara of Spotsylvania and Deborah Britt and husband Phillip of Knoxville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Samantha Knott and husband Jim of Raleigh, N.C., Carrie Mills of Richmond, Jon Butler and wife Christin of Williamsburg, Jessica Butler of King George, Amanda Cornett of Spotsylvania, Heather Gaydish and husband Chris of Ruther Glen, Lee Eustace III of Richmond, Katherine Britt of Knoxville and David Britt of Knoxville; two great-grandchildren, Julianna Cornett and Addison Cornett; two sisters, Patricia Moore and Olive Simmons; brother Eugene Sullivan; sister-in-law Beth Sullivan; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Marc Butler.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
