On July 21, 2017 Heaven gained another Angel. Dr. Rosalind "Renee" Hight Lacey was born on May 6, 1957 in Dallas, Texas and was blessed to two loving parents Walter Charles Hight and Elnora Louise Hight. Renee, as she was affectionately called, accepted God into her life at an early age. Renee pursued higher education and attended the University of Texas at Austin obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Journalism. Renee's love for education led her to obtain a Master's of Arts in School Counseling from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas, while later obtaining a Doctorate of Education in Special Education Leadership from George Washington University, Washington, DC. After moving to Northern Virginia in 1986, Renee worked as a manager for IBM. In 1994 Renee pursued her passion for education and joined Prince William County Schools (PWCS) as a guidance director for alternative education. She was ultimately appointed as the Director of Student Management and Alternative Programs in February 2014. Renee was beloved by PWCS students and staff alike for her dedication to nontraditional education. Renee married Bishop Leonard B. Lacey in 2002. Together, the Lacey's ministered the Word of God at United Faith Christian Ministry (UFCM) in Stafford, Virginia. The love of God poured out in every word she spoke. Renee leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Leonard of Stafford, VA; daughter, Amanda of Frankfurt, Germany; son, Tremayne (Tonya) of Fredericksburg, VA; daughter, Alicia (Lenwood) of Ruther Glen, VA; four grandsons: Devon, Chandler, Elton, & Luke; her best friend, Ann Black; her extended family of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; devoted colleagues from PWCS; and her beloved church family of United Faith Christian Ministry. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 4, at 7:00 p.m. A viewing will be held Saturday, August 5, at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Both services will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 18410 Chapel St., Triangle, VA.
