Jack Allen Miller, 80, passed away on September 4, 2025, in Fredericksburg, Va. A longtime resident of the city, Jack made Fredericksburg his home for over five decades.
Born on March 16, 1945, in Washington D.C., Jack was the son of Allen Miller and Margretta Bowers. He was also lovingly raised by his stepfather, Clarence Bowers. Jack graduated from Fork Union Military Academy in 1964, and attended Old Dominion University.
Jack spent his professional life as a salesman in the insurance industry before retiring. His career reflected a steady commitment to service and reliability-qualities that those who knew him came to admire.
He shared 49 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara Worman Miller, who preceded him in death. Jack was also predeceased by his sister, Susan Pasler Miller.
He is survived by his son, Nathanial "Natter" Miller and his wife, Nell Hinchey. Jack also leaves behind his cherished granddaughter, Mary Nell Miller.
A devoted fan of the University of North Carolina Tar Heels, Jack followed their games with lifelong enthusiasm. His loyalty to the team was a defining passion that brought him joy throughout his life.

The Millers have been our neighbors since 1978. Uncle Jack was a constant presence in our lives. I will always remember the conversations we would have in the driveway, playing between his and our backyard and his love of UNC. I will miss his laughter, his sense of humor and his unique way of saying my name. I am grateful to have met the Miller family. Ms Barbara was a joy and loved her son and granddaughter. Natter remains the little brother from another mother. Going home now feels different but I am grateful for the love and memories that will always remain.

I was Jack and Bah's next door neighbor in the mid-90's. We became good tight friends quickly. I'll always treasure Jack's humor and good nature. May he have peace and love.

So sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of Jack coming into Napolita Pizza in his bunny costume at Easter, after entertaining his kids. He loved his family.

David & I were saddened by the news of Jack's passing. We pray that all the happy memories bring you all comfort now. He was a character and the Mayor of the Dunken Well's Wellians. May He Rest in Peace.
