John F. Colarusso
John Francis Colarusso, 82, of Woodford in Caroline County died Saturday, June 29, 2002, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond.
Born in Boston, Mass., Mr. Colarusso was a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, an Army veteran, and an ex-POW at the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. He as founder and past president of the Ex-POW Organization in Middleboro, Mass., a member of the DAV, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and member of Salem Baptist Church, Sparta.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Robert Colarusso and John L. "Jackie" Colarusso, both of Plymouth, Mass.; a daughter, Patricia Lorraine Mitchell of Scituate, Mass.; a brother, Patrick Colarusso of Medford, Mass.; three sisters, Phyllis Lemmo of Fort Lauderville, Fla., Eleanor Zerega and Margaret Lovett, both of Revere, Mass.; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a close friend, Imogene Driver of Bowling Green.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Ralph and Lewis Colarusso.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
