John G. Ellis, 52, of Lake Worth, Fla., died of an apparent heart attack Thursday, May 3, 2001, at J.F.K. Medical Center in Atlantis, Fla.
Mr. Ellis, a native of Fredericksburg, was a graduate of Spotsylvania High School and Mary Washington College.
He worked in the personnel department of Palm Beach County and was a Vietnam War Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ellis; a daughter, Debra Ellis of Oregon; a sister, Carlyn Kell of Charleston, S.C.; three brothers, Ron Ellis of Spotsylvania, Robert Ellis of Lake Worth, Fla., and the Rev. James Ellis of Johnson City, Tenn.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Chancellor Community Center on Old Plank Road. His brother, the Rev. James W. Ellis, will officiate.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the community center.
Dorsey Funeral Home, Lake Worth, handled arrangements there.
