Katherine Holman Obituary

Katherine Holman

January 12, 1999 - November 26, 2025

Katherine Marie Holman, 26, of King George, VA, passed peacefully into the Lord's care at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, TX, carrying with her the same courageous spirit that defined her life.

Katie had an incredible, dry sense of humor and a bold, determined spirit. She was wonderfully stubborn in the best way - always making her own path and never letting anyone tell her what to do. She wasn't one to sit still; she approached life with a fierce drive and an eagerness to get things done.

She had a passion for singing and filled every space she entered with music - from old rock to Billy Joel, beloved classics, Disney songs, and especially her favorite musical, Hamilton. She also shared her gift of music by serving on the worship team at Heights Church in Richmond. Katie loved movies and delighted in quoting her favorites.

During a prolonged stay at INOVA, Katie became known for uplifting the staff and patients with a ukulele concert. Despite the challenges she faced, she never resented her condition, and she never allowed her heart defect to define her. Katie loved the beach, enjoyed the theater, and was a die-hard Eagles fan.

She was an exceptional scholar - incredibly smart, an excellent debater, and a proud graduate of Liberty University with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. She dreamed of becoming a chef, loved watching Food Network, and truly enjoyed her time working at Wawa, where she spent several years after college.

Her faith in Jesus was profoundly important to her. Katie was devoted to her church family at Heights Church and cherished traditions, especially those surrounding the holidays, like going to see Christmas lights. Katie deeply loved her family and was fondly known as Aunt "Tatie" to her nieces and nephew.

Katie is survived by her mom, Cheryl Holman; dad, Tim Holman (Amanda); siblings, Rachel Morton (David), Andrew Holman (Rhesmika), Joseph Holman (Phoenix), Lauren Holman, Richard "Jack" Holman, William Holman, Natalie Holman, and Adam Holman; step-siblings, Seth Brooks and Anna Brooks; nieces and nephew, Lucy, Maverick, Elinor, and Monroe; aunts and uncles, Christine Heisler, Christopher Heisler, Dr. Lucy Mayers (Reggie), William Holman (Joyce), Gerry Holman (Chrisann), Rich Holman (Debbie), Matt Holman, Andy Holman (Lori), Pat Holman (Heather), and Ray Holman (Kate); numerous cousins; and many loving friends.

The family will receive friends from 10 am to 12 pm on Monday, December 8, 2025 at Storke Funeral Home, King George (11089 James Madison Parkway, King George, VA 22485). Burial will follow at 1:30 pm on Monday, December 8, 2025 at Historyland Memorial Park (11227 James Madison Parkway, King George, VA 22485). A celebration of Katie's life will be held at 4 pm on Monday, December 8, 2025 at River Club Church (10835 Tidewater Trail, Fredericksburg, VA 22408) with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Child Savers (www.childsavers.org/donate/).
