Leahcim Beth Newton, 20, of Stafford County died of cancer at her residence Wednesday, April 25, 2001.
Born in Fredericksburg, she worked as a kennel technician at White Oak Animal Hospital. She attended Arwood Church of God and was enrolled at Canine & Clippers School of Pet Grooming.
Survivors include her parents, Strother Lee Newton and Mildred Hessler Newton of Stafford; her paternal grandmother, Margaret E. Newton of Spotsylvania County; and her companion, Tommy Barr of Fredericksburg.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with Chaplain Jim Bonomo officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
