Mabel L. Carr
Mabel Louise Hairfield Carr, 84, a loving and devoted wife and mother, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011.
She was born on Jan. 29, 1927, in Spotsylvania County and raised by her grandmother Daisy Brooks. A homemaker, she loved gardening and working with her rosebushes. She was a lifetime member of Bethel Christian Church in Spotsylvania.
Mabel is survived by her husband of 62 years, Clarence A. Carr. Other survivors include one son, Raymond A. Carr and his wife, Maxine; one daughter, Frances L. Carr of Spotsylvania; two grandchildren, Lindsay R. Call and her husband, Todd, of Fredericksburg and Melissa B. Sebring and her husband, Nick, of Melbourne, Fla. Mabel is also survived by one sister, Doris McWhirt; and one brother, Robert Hairfield and his wife, Ruth.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Keith Boyer officiating.
Interment will be in Bethel Christian Church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randall Mastin, Wade Acors, Thomas Traynham, Derek Ingalls, Shelton Hairfield and Lewis Gentry Jr.
