Madeline L. Phelps, age 82 went to rest in the arms of Jesus on April 4, 2017 at Mary Washington Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Jefferson D. Phelps III; her daughter, Paula Meadows and husband, Bill, daughter, Sharon Dunavant and husband, Elvin, daughter, Karen Poates and husband, Ken, and son, Paul Phelps and wife, Tammy.
She was the beloved grandmother of Jennifer O'Toole, David Dunavant, Andrea Meadows Ezell, Angela Meadows, Rachel Dunavant Von Kaenel, Gavin O'Toole, Jessica Meadows, Emmie Phelps, Tyler Phelps and RayAnne Phelps. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Madeline's family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 8096 Leedstown Road, Colonial Beach, VA. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Randy Snipes officiating.
In lieu of flowers her family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Westmoreland Rehabilitation and Healthcare, 2400 McKinney Blvd, Colonial Beach, VA 22443.
