Norris Sanford Johnson, Jr.

Norris Sanford Johnson, Jr., 79, of Fredericksburg, VA, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Born in Fredericksburg on August 1, 1946, to the late Norris Sanford Johnson, Sr. and Audrey Johnson, Sanford lived a full life marked by hard work, love, and laughter.

Sanford began his career in accounting and transitioned to real estate, where he received the "Rookie of the Year" award. He later worked in mortgage lending, where he combined his sharp mind with a genuine desire to help others and received recognition in his first year for outstanding performance.

In his younger years, he found excitement in drag racing - his favorite car, affectionately named Thrasher, was a reflection of his adventurous spirit and love of speed. Sanford was an avid golfer and made lasting friendships on and off the green. In his later years, he loved to spend time outside caring for his yard, especially with his Kubota!

He is survived by his devoted life partner, Andrea Maitland; his sister, Linda Hopkins (Gerry) of Harrisonburg; his daughter, Kyla Sine (Eric) of Winchester; his three cherished grandchildren, Brock, Carter, and Paisley Sine; and his beloved dog, Avery, who was always by his side.

His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
