Thomas Edenton Obituary

Thomas Madison Edenton Jr., 77, of Chester, Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025.

He was born on October 28, 1948, to the late Thomas Madison Edenton, Sr. ("Mack" or "Maxie") and Joyce (Page) Edenton. Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era, stationed aboard the USS John F. Kennedy (Big John) from 1968 to 1972. A devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Robin (Hess) Edenton; his son, Stacy Edenton; and his sisters, Phyllis Wolfrey (Gil) and Shirley Berry (Bob). He is preceded in death by his son, Thomas Madison Edenton III. Thomas enjoyed a life filled with music, golf, and the simple joys of time spent with family and friends. He also cherished his two loyal dogs, Lucy and Lil'Bit, who were constant companions.

A man of steadfast faith, Thomas was a longtime member of The Heights Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, where he found community and purpose, especially through his love of music as a dedicated member of the church choir. Thomas will be remembered for his warm heart, his dedication to family and friends, and the unwavering strength and resilience that carried him through life. A private memorial service will be held at a later date for family and close friends.
