Thurston Meloy Jr.
Thurston George Meloy Jr., 77, died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in Indiana, he was a graduate of the University of Louisville. Mr. Meloy was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. While at the university, he met his wife, Anne Clubb, and they were married for 52 years.
A veteran of the Navy, Mr. Meloy served aboard the aircraft carrier Wasp during World War II and was awarded a special commendation from the Navy for outstanding photographic work while on board the ship.
Mr. Meloy retired after 28 years as an analyst for the CIA. He and his wife moved to Fredericksburg from Fairfax in 1990.
Besides his wife, Mr. Meloy is survived by two daughters, Linda Meloy of Leesburg, and Debra Meloy Elmegreen of New York; a son-in-law, Bruce; and two grandchildren, Lauren and Scott.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania, where a funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Quantico National Cemetery at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
