Zenaida Sanchez-Marghella
Zenaida Marghella, 52, of Stafford County ended a long and courageous battle with cancer and died peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at Mary Washington Hospital. She was surrounded by her family and closest friends, and left this world in the warm embrace of those she loved most.
She is survived by her husband, retired Navy Cmdr. Peter Marghella, MSC; and her children, Desiree, Corinne and Amberly.
Zenaida was a proud and dedicated Navy wife, and she cherished the years of service she and her family shared. She touched many, many lives and will be dearly and greatly missed by everyone who came to love this funny, graceful and gentle woman. Her greatest pleasures in life were her family; a warm and beautiful home that brought comfort to anyone who entered; and surrounding herself with the intimate treasures she collected along the path of her life. She was a remarkable woman of magnificent grace and dignity. Her loss leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will take place at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Marine Corps Base Quantico Chapel (Mainside/Lower Base). Non-military guests attending the service should be prepared to show a driver's license at the gate. Active-duty military personnel are requested to attend the service in service dress blue-equivalent in honor of Zenaida's dedication to and admiration of service life.
