Mildred Ann (Millie) Richie Robertson went to be with the Lord on March 23, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by her husband and family. Millie was born on Nov. 10, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas to parents Frank and Eulala Richie along with her beloved big sister, Lois.
Millie attended Driscoll Middle school and graduated from Miller High School, she went on to further her education at Durham Business College. Millie's family started a business and moved to Coy City, Texas in 1964. Millie was hired by Karnes City School District as a teacher's aide.
It was there she noticed a handsome teacher that also drove a Mustang and she made a point to meet him. That teacher was Dennis and ended up being the love of Millie's life, they wed on Aug. 11, 1967 and have been happily married for 56 yrs.
Millie and Dennis moved back to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1970 and she took a job at J I Hailey where she made lifetime friends. Millie had a beautiful voice and she loved to sing, listen to music, and play the piano. They were members of 1st Baptist Church where she was in the Choir and enjoyed their Christmas performances.
In 1994, they moved permanently to their property in Willow City, Texas. Millie loved it there, she continued to sing in the church choir, volunteer at the Hospital, the Library, the Willow City Fire Dept., take care of her many rescued cats, and enjoy the beautiful views of the Hill Country. From 2000 to 2012, she enjoyed traveling with Dennis for his job and getting to see all the new places and make new friends along the way. During Millie's later years, she slowed down due to health issues, but she never quit enjoying friends, family and life!
Millie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Eulala Richie; in-laws, JD and Helen Robertson, and brother-in-law, Bruce Cox.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Robertson; sister, Lois Cox; niece, Brenda Eubanks; nephew, Ronnie and Mo Cox; great-nephews and nieces, Clint Madsen, Utah and Danielle Cox, and Montana Cox.
Millie's "Celebration of Life" will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Willow City Church; Willow City, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to
American Diabetes Association, Willow City Fire Department, Willow City Church or the
charity of your choice.
