Cheryl Margaret Lantinga

Cheryl Margaret Lantinga passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020, peacefully, with family by her side at Henry Ford Macomb, after a massive stroke. She was 75 years-old.

Cheryl attended Lamphere High School. She retired from Consumers Energy after 31 years of service and moved on to volunteer at the hospital gift shops of Troy Beaumont and Henry Ford Macomb. The perpetual caregiver, Cheryl loved cooking and tending to friends, family and animals. Always the avid dog lover, she could be seen walking her dog, Storm, through her condo complex.

Cheryl never wanted a funeral service. Therefore, after the COVID-19 pandemic, we'll have a Celebration of Life.

Cheryl is survived by her life-partner Colleen Stout; children Paul Paris, Jon (Jessica) Paris; grandchildren Dylon and Alexas Paris; and siblings Michele Highsmith, Barbara (Gary) Corbin, Kevin (Tonya) Perkins.

Cheryl was one of the most kindest and gracious people I have ever known. The beauty she carried inside is unmatched, and the world is less of a place now that she is gone. Our hearts are broken, but knowing she is playing with all of her beloved felines and canines eases the pain just a little bit. My thoughts, prayers, and love are with you Colleen, as well as the rest of the family.

My friend, my heart is broken with sorrow. Always the friend, a mentor, a giver, a teacher. I am a better person for having you as a friend, the lessons, the laughs, the tears, the love. Thank you for all you were to me, my husband and my pups. Rest in peace, Cheryl.

Cheryl was always smiling, sweet and always willing to help. She and Bob helped celebrate our wedding in 1964 and our first born, Monique. Blessings to her family in their loss.
