Sister Dorothy (John Ellen) Nauer

Monroe - Sister Dorothy Nauer, IHM, age 93, died Feb. 17 at IHM Senior Living Community.

Daughter of John and Helen (Crum) Nauer, born in Akron, Ohio; graduate of St. Mary High School, Akron. Entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Monroe, in 1945.

A lifetime of ministry as a teacher in Benton Harbor, Detroit, Jackson, Newport and Trenton, Mich.; pastoral administrator at St. Timothy, Trenton, and chaplain at Hutzel Hospital, Detroit. Long-time administrator of St. Mary Infirmary, Monroe.

Beloved sister of Ruth Ann Nauer and aunt to nieces and nephews who survive.

Services will be Livestreamed beginning at 10 a.m. at https://bit.ly/3bgZwQK and accessible until March 17. Arrangements under the direction of the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the IHM Retirement Fund, 610 W. Elm Ave., Monroe, MI 48162-7909.
