Joseph McCARROLL Obituary

McCARROLL

JOSEPH PATRICK The McCarroll family sadly announces the death of their brother, Joseph Patrick, 69, on Friday, November 18, 2016. Joseph collapsed in downtown Detroit while on legal business. He spent his entire life in Law Enforcement; 25 years in the Detroit Police Department (DPD), first as a patrolman eventually rising to the rank of Lieutenant, was chosen by the DPD for special Crime Prevention training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA, and retired as an Attorney in the Law Department. During his tenure at the DPD he obtained his Juris Doctor from The Detroit College of Law. After the DPD he was appointed to the Michigan Department of Correction Parole Board by Governor John Engler. Following his service as a member of the Parole Board he opened his own law practice. At the time of his death he had been a long-standing Attorney for the City of River Rouge. Joseph was the loving father of Meghan, beloved brother to Frank, Mary Louise, Julie (George), Gerry (Sandy), Pat (Sue) and uncle to Marya (Zac), Ryan (Amanda), Kate (Albert), Sean and James. Funeral services were private.
