The late Rev. Dr. Percy L. Moore was my cousin. We met via my Grandmother, the late Alberta Douglas. She thought the world of him and loved him dearly. He was grateful for her prayers throughout the years. He gifted me his book and had chronicled much of our family history. He was such a an inspiration and encouragement to me as a young minister. We stayed in contact through his letters. I cherish his memory and the Gift that he was to the Body of Christ and the community. Rest cousin, until next time.

I finally wrote that music Dr. Moore requested, and put his name on it! Boy, is it pretty intense. Whenever we can schedule a performance, I'll post here when and where around Detroit it will be.

As I sit here on MLK day in 2021 I was reminded of Dr. Moore and his words of wisdom he shared with his students, "Teach Beyond the Content". I often reflect on this quote and the many things he taught me shortly before entering the world of education. This was 22 years ago. Thank you Dr. Moore.

Thank you Dr. Moore for inviting me to learn about your fascinating life and art collection 11 years ago. You were methodically preparing then, and I'll fondly remember the Chinese meals and deep conversations we had. I'll write you that music we talked about. My deepest condolences to your son and his family. May you rest in peace Sir, forever... Moore.

Was an outstanding teacher and mentor.. had a class with him back in late 90's at Wayne State that I STILL talk about and reference to this day. Thank you Dr. Moore, you had a large part in what I am and who I am today!

Reverend Percy Moore counseled and married my husband and I on July 9, 1983 at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church in Detroit, MI. Im extremely pleased to say we are still happily married and going strong. We were so sad to hear of his passing. Dear Lord, please continue to bless his family and may Rev. Moore always Rest In Peace.
