Sarah Bowman Obituary
SARAH a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend to many passed away on Thursday August 4th, 2016 in Bowling Green, Ohio. She was born 78 years ago in Decatur, Georgia, to John F. and Geneva Cole. She attended SW Dekalb High School in Decatur, Georgia, and eventually earned a Master's Degree in Special Education from Eastern Michigan University. She worked for many years in the Gibraltar School District of Michigan teaching children in special education (K-6) and first grade. She was married to Harold McCarty and lived in Bowling Green, OH since 2006. Sarah is survived by her husband Harold, her brother John J. Cole, her children Michael J. (Andrea) Bowman, Brooke (Tyrone) Storrs, and William D. (Laura) Bowman, Jr., her grandchildren Michael A. (Denise) Bowman, Ryan J. (Laura) Bowman, Alyssa Storrs, Laura Storrs, Ashley Bowman, and Christina Bowman, her great-grandchildren Mariel, Julianna, Michael, and Mia Bowman, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Thomas Maurice Cole and Elizabeth Sullivan. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 13th at 10:30 a.m. Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 N. Territorial Rd., Plymouth, Mi. 48170 (olgcparish.net). Arrangements are being handled by Dunn Funeral Home. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the A. Alfred Taubman Medical Research Institute at the University of Michigan.
