Brian Patrick Kucera
June 2, 1964 – May 8, 2021
Brian Patrick Kucera, formerly of Saunders County, went to be with his Savior on May 8, 2021, at home in Sarasota, Florida. Brian was born June 2, 1964, in Fremont to Raymond and Shirley (Hensley) Kucera.
Brian grew up on the family farm outside of Cedar Bluffs. Farming became his passion until he retired. After he retired, he and his wife Tracy fulfilled their dream of owning and operating Red Zone. They were quite successful in this endeavor until they sold in 2019 to live out one last dream. This was to live out their days in the sun and sand of Sarasota, Florida. Brian loved going fast which was apparent in his Chevelle, tractors going down the track, and his airboat making its way down the Platte. Brian did slow down to enjoy golf or to watch a "pair of singles" decoy into a duck blind. Brian found his greatest joy when he became GPop. Teaching his grandchildren how to make homemade pizza, how to drive a golf cart and the pontoon boat, as well as the importance of an afternoon nap, were a few of the things that he cherished. Brian was a member of Ducks Unlimited and Sons of American Legion. He served 15 years on the Board of Directors of Farmer's Union Co-op which included two terms as president. Brian's personal relationship with The Lord helped see him through the difficult times.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents and two incredibly special brothers, Greg and Dennis Kucera, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Brian is survived by his wife Tracy; children, Matthew (Chelsea), Annie (Cody), and Krissy (Albert), Daysha (Josh), Danica (Alan) and Jerico; grandchildren, Tracy (Speranza), Aspen, Moxen, Dylan, Millie, and Athena; brothers, Ray (Julie), Chuck (Celina), and Tommy; sisters, Beth, Sister Peggy, and Annette (Kelly); sisters-in-law, Deb and Carol; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Steve and Bobbie Miller; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Thank you, to all the family and friends that helped in Brian's time of need. He was truly blessed to have each of you in his life. Also, a special thank you to Cory and Shona Baxter and their children, Kyle and Sabryn, for the never ceasing love and kindness shown to Brian and Tracy throughout this difficult time.
There will be an open house May 22 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the American Legion in Cedar Bluffs to celebrate the life of this wonderful man.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Brian Kucera Medical Fund at Community State Bank of Colon.
