Dennis Wachal Obituary
Dennis Lester Wachal, 71, of Richland died Friday, May 25, 2007, at Birchwood Manor in North Bend.
He was born Aug. 20, 1935, in Richland to Edward and Albie (Jedlicka) Wachal. He graduated from Schuyler High School and served in the U.S. Army in 1957-58. He married Joan Herling on March 11, 1959, in Clarkson. They lived and farmed near Richland.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Schuyler.
Survivors include: his wife, Joan; a son, Donald Wachal of Richland; a brother, Richard (and wife, Colleen) Wachal of Schuyler; and a sister-in-law, Betty Wachal of Schuyler.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Schuyler with the Rev. Gerald Leise officiating. Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a rosary being said at 7 p.m., all at Kracl Funeral Chapel in Schuyler. Burial will be in Schuyler Cemetery in Schuyler with military honors by Hespen-Mitchell Post 4836 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and McLeod Post 47 of the American Legion. A luncheon will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Church social hall.
Memorials may be made to the Colfax County Senior Center.
