Douglas M. "Doug" Haynes

April 14, 1957 - October 11, 2025

Douglas M. "Doug" Haynes, 68, of Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025 at his home. He was born April 14, 1957 in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Charles and Delores (Gifford) Haynes.

Doug grew up in Fremont, NE and graduated from Fremont High and joined the Army National Guard in 1975. He has lived in Cedar Bluffs, NE since 1974. In 1975 started his pipe welding and fitting career and traveled with the work, he married Cindi (Rezac) Pierce; this marriage of 29 years blessed him with four children. Doug was a parishioner, Acolyte and Lector of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cedar Bluffs. He was a member of the Nebraska Airboat Association. Doug had many loves including flying and airboating on the Platte River, but his greatest joy of all were his grandchildren, attending their activities and celebrating their achievements.

I am so sorry to hear about Doug. He was the on-site Supt. when BD-East was being built when I started with MMI. We always had a good time when we worked together. We worked on many projects throughout the years. The last project we worked together was at Syngenta in south Omaha, that was my most memorable one. He was always a no nonsense guy, just get to work and get the job done. That was one of the things I admired about him. I know it is an old cliche, but I do hope that time will heal your sorrows.
