Jerry L. Kroeger, 68, of Lincoln died Friday, March 28, 2003, in Lincoln.
He was born July 1, 1934, in Lincoln and was raised in Newman Grove and David City. He was a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University and received his master's degree from Kearney State College. He taught and coached at Kearney High School and also coached at Doane College. He also was the athletic director at Hastings and Lincoln Northeast High School.
He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Nebraska Coaches Association and was a member and past president of Nebraska Athletic Directors Association.
He married Marilyn A. Kyes Dec. 22, 1954, in Merrick County.
Survivors include: his wife; three daughters, Susan (Mrs. Jerry) Donahue of Fremont, Kim (Mrs. Craig) Gibson of Grand Island and Julie (Mrs. Mike) Erickson of Marietta, Calif.; a son, David (and wife, Susan) Kroeger of Omaha; a sister, Jo (Mrs. Jim) McGurk of Lincoln; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church Chapel with the Rev. Dan Safarik officiating. A private family burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Memorials have been established to Tabitha Hospice, St. Mark's United Church and Lincoln Northeast Athletic Department.
