Leta Hahn

Leta M. Hahn, 80, of Nickerson died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

She was born Feb. 2, 1933, on a farm in rural Royal, Iowa, to Louis and Mabel (Templeman) Petersen. She lived in Omaha and Fremont before moving to the Nickerson area in 1959.

Leta married Clarence A. "C.A." Hahn on Nov. 22, 1952, in Royal. He died Oct. 13, 2004.

Leta and her husband owned and operated C and L Hahn Trucking. They drove across the country together as a team. She retired in 1998. Leta had a dance band called the Orleta Orchestra and she was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary Aerie 200 of Fremont.

Survivors include: a son, Vernon Hahn of Dell Rapids, S.D.; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and George Watson of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Pat Petersen of Worthington, Minn.; sister, Ruby Hahn of Nickerson; three grandchildren, Mathew (Elizabeth) Gahner of Independence, Mo., Joshua Hahn (and special friend, Brenda Hyde) of Dell Rapids, S.D., and Erik (Stacey) Gahner of Nickerson; great-grandchildren, Alex, Andrew and Austin Gahner, Janae, Jacob and Jordyn Hahn, and Isaac, Ashlynn and Garrett Gahner; special niece, Nola Nelson of Terrell, Iowa; and other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, C.A.; and three sisters, Fern Petersen, Verle Roberts and Garnet Babbitt.

A private family graveside service will be held at Hooper Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Jensen, Fremont Area Medical Center chaplain, officiating.

Memorials may be directed to Fremont Area Medical Center Hospice.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
