Lilly Krohn Obituary

Lilly O. Krohn, 94, of Fremont died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at Nye Pointe in Fremont.

Lilly was born Sept. 16, 1919, in Arlington to Fred and Wilma (Schormann) Scheer. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Arlington. She attended Arlington High School and graduated from Mrs. Smith's College of Cosmetology in Fremont. She was married to Walter D. Krohn of Hooper on Dec. 18, 1937, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, north of Arlington. She operated and maintained a beauty salon in her home in both Winslow and Uehling. She was manager of Virgie's Clothing Store in Omaha (Millard) and also worked at other clothing stores, including the Spence Shop in Fremont.

Lilly was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served on various committees, including TWML.

Survivors include: daughters, Jeanette (and husband, Allyn) Poling of Fremont and Kay (and husband, Einar) Anderson of Tucson, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 2004; her parents; brothers, Alfred, Oscar, Otis, Obert, Wallace and Gerhardt; and sisters, Wilma, Helen Frieda and Esther.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont with the Rev. Dan Heuer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time Friday at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church.
