Robert J. Reinsch, 94, of Fremont passed away Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at The Heritage at Shalimar Gardens in Fremont.
Robert was born Oct. 20, 1920, in Shickley to John and Marie (Mayer) Reinsch.
Robert grew up on a farm near Shickley and was a 1938 Geneva High School graduate. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942-1945. After the military, he graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and lived in several area communities before settling in Fremont. Robert married Margaret Butler on Oct. 29, 1951, in Jefferson, Iowa. Robert sold mutual funds and retired in 2000 from Ameriprise Financial.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and American Legion Post 20, both of Fremont.
Survivors include: his wife, Margaret Reinsch of Fremont; son, John Reinsch (and wife Diane) of Lincoln; daughters, Ellen Reinsch-Friese (and husband, Carl) of Dayton, Ohio, and Karen Kugler (and husband, Royce) of Lincoln; brother, Elmer Reinsch of Shickley; sisters, Dorothy Jean Kress of Mundelein, Ill., Marjorie Hesse of Papillion, and Maybelle Maloney (and husband, John) of Deerfield, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. The Rev. Benjamin Boyd will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with a rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Saturday at the church. Military honors will be conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 854 and American Legion Post 20 at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
Memorials may be given to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or to Fremont Health Hospice Program, both of Fremont.
